SBISD is proud to announce that Marina de Paula Valadares, a 12th-grade student, has been selected for the prestigious 2025 Governor’s Gallery for her artwork, Traditions of Childhood.
This yearlong exhibition, displayed in the governor’s business office, showcases outstanding student art from across Texas.
This honor was unveiled during the 2025 Youth Art Month Spring Exhibition Celebration on March 9 at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin. The event highlighted the creativity of young artists, bringing together students, educators and families in a vibrant celebration of artistic achievement.
Texas first lady Cecilia Abbott personally selected the artworks for the Governor’s Gallery, recognizing the exceptional talent of students like Valadares. A private reception will be held at a later date to honor the featured artists.
SBISD congratulates Valadares and all the student artists whose work was displayed in the 2025 Youth Art Month Spring Exhibition. Their creativity and dedication continue to inspire our community.
